Overview:
VIrtual Prosthesis systEm simulatoR (VIPER) provides an alternative training platform in which the overhead costs can be mitigated, if not removed. Use of ViPER eliminates the need to use a physical apparatus and the associated costs, as the only physical system required is a personal desktop computer and/or a virtual reality headset. The system is used for training and assessment of myoelectric control of upper limb prostheses.
The system combines multiple devices and systems to provide an engaging virtual reality environments. Equipment include: Vive VR headset, controllers, trackers, Myo armband, and Windows Mixed Reality system interfaced with a custom software known as BrachIOplexus and Unity game engine.
